Altar Servers


The primary role of the altar server is to assist the priest in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass. This is done through specific actions and by setting an example to the congregation by active participation in the liturgy (hymns, responses, etc.), by 'looking alert' and by sitting or standing at the appropriate times.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Formerly Eucharistic Minister)


A non-ordained man or woman that collaborates in the sacred ministry of priests, such as, to assist with the distribution of Holy Communion as needed, the ministry of Communion to the Sick and the purifying of the sacred vessels. NOTE: The Ordinary (Eucharistic) Minister of the Eucharist is a bishop, priest or deacon.
