CONFIRMATION 2010-2011
Cathechesis-
Our Confirmation prep is a two year program for 9th-12th grade students. Confirmondi meet one Sunday each month at 2:00pm in the Commons for games, skits, teaching, and small groups. We will end the Super Sunday with Mass at 5:15pm. Mass is part of the Super Sunday! In January, small groups will be required to meet once a month on a date and time agreed upon by the entire small group. Year one Confirmondi retreat will be in the fall and year two Confirmondi retreat will be in the spring. Year two Confirmondi will be confirmed in early May.
Service-
I will be organizing group service projects for the students, as they are required to fulfill at least 15 hours service each year. These projects will be a fun and great way for students to build relationships with one another while also helping those in our community!
Retreats-
In addition to Super Sundays and two service projects, students will also be required to attend the Confirmation retreat. Year one Confirmondi retreat will be in November and year two Confirmondi retreat will be in April. Official dates coming soon!
Sponsors-
The role of a Confirmation sponsor is VERY important. You will be walking side by side with your teen in this two year confirmation journey. Teens, PLEASE take the time to pray and discern who you choose as a sponsor. Sponsors will be required to attend some meetings as well as the Rite of Confirmation ceremony. Below is an attachment for sponsor criteria. Please read the list carefully and ask if you have any questions.
Teens, if you do not know of anyone who could be your sponsor, please contact me so I can help! We have resources within this parish and we can find someone to be your sponsor.
